Many of us, who had our sexual boundaries violated, shut down. We lived lives trapped in guilt, shame, and confusion, which continued to attract more of the dismal same. Rape Alchemy and the Yellow Rose Recipe® is a challenge from one survivor to another and a message of hope. The purpose of this website is to increase public awareness that violence is not our true nature and the effects of rape and molestation can heal.
Rape is the crime of forcing another person to submit to sex acts, especially sexual intercourse. Rape is an unnatural experience; abusive or improper treatment; and a violation (American Heritage). Rape statistics decreased from 1993-2000; criminologists and women's groups questioned the accuracy of the numbers (M. Fazlollah). It doesn't matter, it's all horrific. Watch the clock—every two minutes someone is sexually assaulted. Look around the grocery store—one out of every six women you see has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape (RAINN).
Alchemy is a code word referring to the process of transforming a wound to gold (D. Chopra). "Alchemy" communicates the human capacity to heal and restore beauty, laughter, and self-esteem. The Yellow Rose Recipe accesses the effects of the cycle of rape and molestation. The process involves ripping bandages from the wound and exposing it to Light. We transmute our perception of a festering mess of awfulness into a valuable gift: once a victim, not always a victim.
My Challenge, as one survivor to another, involves conscious choice to enter the shadow, dive to the depths, and re-surface as an integrated, whole person. To accept the challenge is to be an active player in evolving humans beyond the destructive effects of the cycle of rape, pillage, and plunder. Rape Alchemy and the Yellow Rose Recipe is a methodology of differentiating the PAST from the NOW and thereby affecting the FUTURE of our society. The sparkle of true purpose erases wounds.
